The Bulldog Ultra

The Bulldog Ultra is a trail running event at Malibu Creek State Park in Calabasas, CA. The event offers three distances: a 75k three-loop ultra, a 50k ultra, and a 25k trail run. The 50k route covers 29.4 miles with about 5,784 feet of climbing. The 25k route covers 14.87 miles with about 2,947 feet of climbing. Courses use single track and fire roads and provide ocean views from parts of the route.

Aid stations are fully stocked and placed at specific mile markers on both the 25k and 50k courses; the 50k includes a start-of-second-loop aid station with toilets, drop bag access, and pacer support. Cut-off checkpoints are enforced along the course and runners must meet those cut-offs to continue.

Awards include overall podiums for the 25k and 50k across women, men and non-binary categories, plus age group awards for the 25k and 50k. The 50k features a reported $3,500 male and female prize purse and the 25k has a $500 course record bonus. Finishers receive event shirts and handmade finisher medals, with customized medals for the 75k. The event lists on-site amenities such as post-race food, a beer garden, certified sports massage, finish line music and free race photography.

The Bulldog Ultra is presented as the longstanding Southern California 50k with a multi-decade history. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
