The Austin Spartan Event Weekend takes place at Reveille Peak Ranch in Burnet, Texas, a venue featuring over 62 miles of varied terrain. Participants traverse the Texas Hill Country, navigating a course that includes red dirt trails, dry creek beds, and rolling hills. The landscape is characterized by granite outcrops, rocky red granite slabs, and fields filled with wildflowers and desert cacti.
The event offers several obstacle course distances and endurance challenges:
- Super 10K: A 10 km course featuring 25 different obstacles.
- Sprint 5K: A 5 km course featuring 20 different obstacles.
- Kids Race: Distances ranging from 1 km to 3 km with age-appropriate obstacles.
- Hurricane Heat: Endurance sessions available in 4-hour and 12-hour formats.
The terrain at the ranch provides a technical experience with exposed granite and hilly sections throughout the property. In addition to the obstacle course races, the weekend includes the Spartan Trail Race at the same location. Spectators are permitted at the venue to view the proceedings from the sidelines.
