Ashdown Forest 10 & 5 Mile: Summer Challenge

The Ashdown Forest Summer Challenge is a trail running event held at Pippingford Park Manor in Nutley, East Sussex. The race route explores the hard-packed trails of Ashdown Forest, providing a running surface that typically remains free of mud. The course is characterized by significant elevation changes, including 1568ft of climbing that leads to views across The Downs.

Participants can choose between two race distances:

  • 10 miles (open to entrants aged 17 and over)
  • 5 miles (open to entrants aged 15 and over)

The event focuses on endurance and includes a combination of steep ascents and downhill sections. The race environment is supported by marshals and volunteers to assist runners throughout the challenge. Detailed route information and GPX files are provided to registered participants before the event.

All finishers receive a bespoke medal. Winners are eligible for Running Hub vouchers. Practical amenities for the event include free on-site parking at Pippingford Park. While on-the-day entries may be available depending on capacity, these registrations are not guaranteed to receive a medal. The venue is accessible by car using the TN22 3HW postcode or by public transport via the East Grinstead railway station. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
