Course, divisions and rules

The event offers regular and heavy individual divisions plus a Team Heavy division. Heavy divisions require competitors to carry a 35 lb vest or ruck. Team Heavy consists of four individuals, each carrying a 35 lb vest/ruck, and teams must finish together. A headlamp or flashlight is required for the nighttime trail section. All vests and rucks will be weighed after the race; failure to meet the 35 lb requirement disqualifies participants from awards. Strollers are not allowed.

Registration and logistics

Entry fee is listed as $35 per event and registration closes March 7, 2026. The race is open to participants aged 10 years and older and will proceed rain or shine. Parking is at Hoover Met only; Brocks Gap Brewery parking is restricted except for handicapped spaces. Restrooms are available at the brewery and the start line. One water station is located at the trail entrance. Bib pickup is offered the night before from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Brocks Gap Brewery and on race day at 4:00 PM.
