Arc of Northern Virginia Corporate & Community Team Challenge 5K

The Arc of Northern Virginia Corporate and Community Team Challenge brings together companies and community to raise funds to sustain and strengthen programs, services, and advocacy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Participants may register as teams or as individuals.

The 5k course begins and ends at Shelter C at Burke Lake Park, 7315 Ox Road, Fairfax Station, VA. The course is out-and-back, partially paved and partially on a dirt path with some rocks and roots, over mildly rolling terrain. The finish area at Shelter C hosts post-race food, music, and an awards ceremony. The 5k is chip timed by NoVA Race Timing and results are posted online.

Team competition is for teams of five to seven runners and is scored by finish order rather than individual times. Team categories include Corporate Coed, Corporate All Male, Corporate All Female, and Community Open. Trophies are awarded to the top-three teams in each category. Overall awards include Amazon gift cards for the top-five men and top-five women. Age group awards are given to the top two males and females in each age group: under 15, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus.

All preregistered participants receive an event t-shirt and a race bib. Team registrations may include printed team t-shirts and commemorative plaques or framed photos depending on sponsorship level. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
