Event Details
The Merrimack River Trail Race is a 10-mile out-and-back course. It starts at the back parking lot of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on Old River Road in Andover, Massachusetts. The race is a USATF-sanctioned event and part of the North Shore Trail Series.
Facilities and Logistics
Portable bathroom facilities will be available on-site. Parking is available in the hotel's back parking lot. There is an unmanned water station at the 2- and 8-mile marks and a manned station at the 4-mile mark. Refreshments, including bagels, fruits, drinks, and snacks, will be available after the race.
Registration and Fees
Online pre-registration has an entry fee of $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for youth (19 and under). A processing fee applies. Online registration closes on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 11:59 PM. Race day registration is $30.00. T-shirts can be purchased for an additional $10 while supplies last (approximately 40 shirts). There is no field limit. Entry is free for 200 Mile Club members, all previous overall winners (non-binary, female, male), and past race directors (t-shirt requires additional fee).
Awards and Recognition
Prizes include $100 for setting a new course record. Overall winners (non-binary, female, and male) receive a homemade Johnny pie. Winners in 10-year age groups (from under 20 to 80+) receive a homemade Mei's RUM fruit cake. Second and third-place finishers in age groups and overall, as well as recipients of most experienced runner awards, receive fresh baked treats. A "muddiest runner" award is also given. A post-race raffle and awards ceremony is held.
