Amberaid 30 Trail Race and Petit Raid
Ashover, United Kingdom • 31 Oct 2026
Event Overview
The Amberaid 30 Trail Race and Petit Raid are two trail running events taking place in the Amber Valley area of Derbyshire, close to the eastern edge of the Peak District. Participants can choose between a longer 31-mile (50 km) ultra-distance route and a shorter 20-mile (32 km) option.
Route and Terrain
Both races start at Ashover Village Hall. The longer Amberaid route describes a figure-of-eight through the rural Amber Valley, featuring undulating countryside paths and trails. The route includes punchy climbs, engaging descents, expansive views, and woodland trails. The shorter Petit Raid follows the northern loop of the Amberaid course, offering 20 miles of trails, hills, and views. The routes are largely unmarked, with a couple of trickier navigation sections marked by the organizer. Route notes and GPX files are provided for download, and participants may wish to bring their own paper map.
Race Details
The time limit for the event is 9 hours. Runners on the 31-mile Amberaid route must have left checkpoint 2 by 12:30 PM; those arriving later will be redirected onto the 20-mile Petit Raid route. There are checkpoints providing water, with some also offering sweet and savory food.
