The After Ate 8K and 2 Mile takes place on Saturday, November 29, 2025, in Williamsburg, VA at 2070 Jamestown Rd. The event includes the following distances:

The 8K and 2 Mile races are chip timed. Registration prices increase after November 19, 2025. Virtual registration closes on November 28, 2025. All participants receive a custom long-sleeve race shirt; shirt size is guaranteed for those registered by November 19, 2025.

Course, awards, and amenities

The 8K route starts at the zero mile mark on the Virginia Capital Trail, follows the Capital Trail across a bridge, uses the Greensprings and Powhatan trails, returns to Jamestown Road, and finishes via the Jamestown service road. The 2 Mile course runs on the service road parallel to Jamestown Road, out to a turnaround on Landfall and back. The 8K and 2 Mile offer age-group awards and overall awards. The 8K awards include top three men and women overall and in multiple age groups (14 and under through 75 and over); separate awards are listed for competitive walkers. The 2 Mile awards include top three male and female overall, age groups from 10 and under through 75 and over, and ruck/weighted vest finishers. Finishers receive a finisher medal (limited to early finishers), post-race refreshments, pizza, and a complimentary local beer for those of legal drinking age. Snowy Owl 10 Mile is a scenic trail through York River State Park with rocky single track, boardwalk and fire roads and about 600 feet of climbing. Proceeds benefit AWARE and live owls and education will be onsite.
