The Sandy Bottom 8-Hour Training Run is held at Sandy Bottom Nature Park in Hampton, Virginia. The event includes the following distances and formats:

Logistics, facilities, and awards

Parking and site setup are available once the park opens at sunrise, and the event proceeds while the park is open. A heated restroom is available in the Sandy Bottom Nature Center. A large park shelter will be used for the run; participants are asked to bring portable chairs. Small tents or canopies up to 10x10 are permitted; tarps or similar ground coverings are not allowed. Weather in the area can vary widely; historical January 10 temperatures range from 8°F to 73°F. Run the After Ate 8K and 2 Mile in Williamsburg on Nov 29, featuring chip timed races, competitive walk and ruck options, and a custom long sleeve shirt. Finishers get pizza, a local beer and a chance to support a community food drive.

Join the Tidewater Strider Dismal Swamp in Chesapeake VA on Dec 7, 2025 for 50K, marathon, half marathon, relays and a walkers option on scenic out and back looped trails. Aid stations, finisher apparel and post race pizza and beer await.

Take on the Mel Williams Memorial Seashore 50K, a scenic two loop trail race through First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach. Aid stations, a Brooks shirt and finisher medal await, then celebrate with food and a beer at the brewery.

Snowy Owl 10 Mile is a scenic trail through York River State Park with rocky single track, boardwalk and fire roads and about 600 feet of climbing. Proceeds benefit AWARE and live owls and education will be onsite.
