The Sandy Bottom 8-Hour Training Run is held at Sandy Bottom Nature Park in Hampton, Virginia. The event includes the following distances and formats:

Logistics, facilities, and awards

Parking and site setup are available once the park opens at sunrise, and the event proceeds while the park is open. A heated restroom is available in the Sandy Bottom Nature Center. A large park shelter will be used for the run; participants are asked to bring portable chairs. Small tents or canopies up to 10x10 are permitted; tarps or similar ground coverings are not allowed. Weather in the area can vary widely; historical January 10 temperatures range from 8°F to 73°F.
