Rockin' Summer 5k, 10k, 15k, Half Marathon - Whittier Narrows
This event takes place on July 19, 2026, at Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in South El Monte, California. The course is an open, marked route on the park trail; participants are asked to be courteous to other pedestrians, runners, and cyclists.
The course uses out-and-back loops with an aid station at the turnaround at the start/finish that provides water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and Gu gels.
Distances:
- 5k - out-and-back route
- 10k - two 5k loops
- 15k - three 5k loops
- Half marathon - three 4.36 mile out-and-back loops
Registration includes custom finisher medals, drawstring goodie bags, free photos and videos, posted results within 12-24 hours, and an assortment of snacks and samples. Transfers are allowed only by request and the event has a no-refund policy. The half marathon has a 3:15 time limit; early starts may be available by request.
Parking is available at the Whittier Narrows Area D parking lot at 750 Santa Anita Ave, South El Monte, CA 91733. Parking is $10 per vehicle; discounted parking for persons 65 and over and disabled attendees is $8. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
