The Mt. Baldy 5000

Mount Baldy, United States • 11 Jul 2026

Event

The Mt. Baldy 5000 is a mountain running event held at Mt. Baldy Resort in Mt Baldy, California in July 2026. This is the third running of the event. The race is listed as 5K. The event is currently sold out. It is part of the Los Angeles Mountain Running Series.

Course and post-race

The course is 3.1 miles and is almost entirely uphill, mostly on fire roads with generally good footing. Organizers note the route is unlikely to produce 5K personal records. The course offers mountain views and a sunset at the finish, and it is described as spectator friendly.

After the race there is a BBQ dinner, live music, and drinks at the Top of the Notch restaurant near the finish. The dinner must be purchased in advance as an add-on at registration. The evening ends with a chairlift ride back to the parking area that takes about 15 minutes. There is also an untimed hike associated with the event.
