A Louisiana Summer Night Ultra
A Louisiana Summer Night Ultra is a 10-hour overnight trail event held in Lafayette, Louisiana. The format uses a 3.8-mile loop; runners may complete as many laps as they wish during the timed period.
The loop combines single-track trail, some gravel road, and wooden boardwalks. The course will be marked with reflective tape. There is one central aid station that participants pass twice on each lap. The event is cupless, and each runner is required to carry a light source and a personal hydration solution for every loop. Participants should plan for heat and humidity typical of a summer night in Louisiana.
Logistics include packet pickup at the race start and a pre-race meeting that all runners must attend. Registration has a July 1 deadline for guaranteed shirt availability. There is a campground at Acadiana Park nearby and the trail sits a few miles off I-10 with lodging and dining options in downtown Lafayette.
Items provided to entrants include a T-shirt, a reusable cup, and additional race items. Runners who complete at least five laps receive a finisher award. Podium awards are given to the top three females and top three males. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
