5 Peaks Gold Bar

The third race of the 5 Peaks Northern Alberta Trail Running Series takes place at Gold Bar Park in Edmonton, along the North Saskatchewan River. The park features hard pack trails, technical singletrack and the Esso Hill climb.

The course begins with about 2 kilometres of hard pack trail, then climbs toward Goldstick Park and enters singletrack. The first aid station is located at the top of a steep climb. After the aid station the route returns through singletrack to the park, proceeds out to 50 Street and loops back to the park.

The 3 km kids race includes singletrack and hill sections. Washroom facilities are available in the start and finish area. Parking is limited and spectators are welcome with best viewing from the start and finish area.

Rules and provisioning: no dogs, no headphones, no strollers or baby joggers; nordic walking poles allowed only in non competitive hiking divisions. This is a cup free event; water and electrolyte drink are available at the start, finish and at one or more aid stations.
