The 3 Chaparrals 3/6 Hour Trail Run is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026, in Canyon, TX at Palo Duro Canyon State Park (11450 Park Road 5). The event is a fixed-time endurance trail run offering the following options:
- 6 Hour
- 6 Hour 3 person Relay
- 3 Hour
Registration closes Tue, Mar 24 @ 11:59PM CT. This is the inaugural running of the event.
Course and race information
The race uses a 4 mile loop course (the Kiowa/Comanche Loop) with the start/finish at the Mack Dick Pavilion. Participants attempt to record the greatest distance possible during their chosen duration; only fully completed loops count toward a participant’s distance. The course is on trails and portions can be technical.
There will be one aid station at the start/finish. Participants may set up their own canopies or tents. The aid station will be stocked with water, Hyperlyte Liquid Performance drink mix, cola, ginger ale, pickle juice, gels, and a selection of sweet and salty snacks. This is a cupless event; participants should bring their own bottle, bladder, or cup.
There is an absolute cutoff 30 minutes prior to the end of each race, after which no runner will be allowed to begin another loop. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
