Course and support

The course is a looped trail run with a mix of rolling singletrack, sand, and rock. Runners will encounter short, steep, technical ascents and descents. Mid-October temperatures can vary from freezing in the morning to over 100 degrees in the afternoon. Tents and canopies for crews are allowed in a designated area at the start/finish.

There are four fully stocked aid stations that refill bladders and bottles and provide water, soda, pickle juice, Hyperlyte Liquid Performance, and a variety of food items such as candy, chips, boiled salted potatoes, PB&J sandwiches, and date nut bars. The race is cupless: participants must carry their own hydration system; aid stations will not provide cups. Entrant changes: dropping to a shorter distance has no charge but no refund; moving up in distance requires a fee; bib transfers are allowed; no race day changes, rollovers, or refunds for any reason.
