OUTLAST Amarillo - Night Out Edition
OUTLAST is a six hour trail endurance challenge made up of repeating 5K laps run every hour on the hour. Runners must complete each lap within the hour to continue; any missed lap removes that participant from further laps. Completing all six laps awards the premium OUTLAST medal and a ranking on the national leaderboard.
Courses are trail based and include natural terrain, elevation, and variable conditions; some sections may include pavement or gravel. Aid will be available at the basecamp or loop start with water, basic hydration, and snacks. This is a cupless event, so participants are expected to carry their own bottle or hydration system. Headlamps are required for night participants. Tent or aid station setups are permitted at the venue.
Recognition is awarded at intermediate milestones: four laps earn a “Grit Earned” patch, five laps earn a “Survivor” patch, and six laps earn the premium medal. All participants receive a premium OUTLAST tee. The fastest combined 5K times determine top male and female winners at each event; finishers appear on a national leaderboard, and the fastest across all OUTLAST 6 hour events earns a $1,000 national prize.
The top five male and female 6 hour champions from each city qualify for the Outlast Championship in DFW on December 4, 2027, where additional cash prizes are awarded. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
