1776 Merica - Madisonville, TN

The 1776 Merica event is scheduled as an in-person race in 2026 at the Madisonville Kefauver Pavilion and includes a virtual option. The event offers looped courses that run on the Kefauver Greenway and the Madisonville bike trail around Kefauver Lake.

  • 17.76 miles 8.5 loops finishes on the Kefauver Greenway loop
  • 7.4 miles 3.5 loops finishes on the Kefauver Greenway loop

The course begins at the Madisonville Kefauver Pavilion, follows an asphalt greenway around the lake for the first mile, returns past the pavilion and playground, crosses the road, and continues onto the Madisonville Bike Trail. The bike trail section is described as a roughly one-mile lollipop route with minimal elevation; the overall route combines greenway and trail surfaces.

A ruck division is offered for both in-person and virtual entries. Ruck sacks only; weighted vests and other plate carriers are not allowed. Weight guidelines are: men 30 lb dry, women 20 lb dry, boys under 15 20 lb, girls under 15 10 lb. Weight must be verifiable by stamped plates or similar; removal or reduction during the event is not authorized.

The virtual option may be completed between July 2 and July 8, and virtual finishers receive a decal. Post-race amenities include a hot dog cookout; additional meal tickets and shirts are available as add-on purchases. Registration closes July 3 at 11:59 PM ET.
