Event overview

The 1776 Merica run is scheduled for July 4, 2026 in Madisonville, Tennessee, United States. Registration opens January 1, 2026. The event will be live streamed on the East Coast Adventures YouTube channel. Photographers will be onsite. A virtual option is offered for performances completed between July 2 and July 8, 2026; virtual results must be submitted by Monday, July 8. UltraSignup does not provide official timing for the virtual option; participants are responsible for tracking and submitting their own distance and time.

There is a ruck division for the 17.76-mile distance. Weight requirements apply: Men - 30 lb dry, Women - 15 lb dry, Boys under 15 - 20 lb, Girls under 15 - 10 lb. Weights must be visibly stamped and removal or reduction during the event is not authorized.

Course and other details

All events have a 5 hour course cut-off. The course starts at the Madisonville Kefauver Pavilion, follows an asphalt greenway around Kefauver Lake for the first mile, returns to the pavilion, passes the playground, crosses the road, and continues on the Madisonville bike trail. The bike trail is described as a roughly 1-mile-wide lollipop with minimal elevation. The route is a mix of greenway and trail surfaces. Post-event offerings include a hot dog cookout; additional post-race meal tickets are available for an extra $5. Shirts are available as an add-on.
