1776 Merica is a July event organized by East Coast Adventures at the Madisonville Kefauver Pavilion and surrounding greenway and bike trail. The event is offered as both an in-person race on July 4, 2026 and a virtual option that can be completed between July 2 and July 8, 2026. Registration is available in advance and the event observes a five hour course cutoff for all distances.

The course uses repeated two-mile loops composed of one mile on an asphalt greenway around Kefauver Lake and one mile on the Madisonville bike trail. The bike trail is described as a mostly flat lollipop route with minimal elevation. Both distances finish on the Kefauver Greenway loop.

A ruck division is offered for in-person and virtual entries. Specified pack weights are Men 30 lb dry, Women 20 lb dry, Boys under 15 20 lb, Girls under 15 10 lb. Weight must be clearly marked plates or similar and removal or reduction during the event is not authorized; results rely on participant reporting.

Event features include custom Merica bibs, patriotic awards, themed music, and a post race hot dog cookout. Shirts and additional post race meal tickets are available as add ons. Virtual finishers submit GPS supported distance and time to the event listing, and participants are responsible for accurate tracking.
