Firewater Ultra - Greenback, TN

The Firewater Ultra on October 24, 2026 is a trail event held on the East Lakeshore Trail along the east coast of the Tellico Reservoir in Greenback, Tennessee. The event has run on this trail system end-to-end for multiple years and uses the Wildcat Pointe Trailhead (#10) as the finish location.

The event offers the following distances:

  • 100K out-and-back from Wildcat Pointe to Canal Branch Trailhead
  • 50K starting at the northern end and returning to the finish
  • 50K Relay two-person team sharing the 50K course
  • 50K Sunrise solo 50K starting in the morning
  • 50K Sunset solo 50K starting later in the day, may require headlamps
  • 25K Ruck about 22.5K covering the second half of the 50K course

Logistics include buses that transport 50K runners to the Canal Branch Trailhead and relay exchanges at the Sinking Creek Trailhead (#4) where the first runner meets the second runner. The 25K Ruck requires weighted packs with specific minimums by category and a weigh-in 30 to 60 minutes before the start; weight must be clearly stamped and removal during the event is not allowed. Finishers in the ruck receive a custom patch along with standard event swag.

The event provides detailed course documents with aid station locations, cutoff times, crew access, and drop bag information. Optional live tracking is available for each race. The event places the shirt order on October 16 and offers hoodie sweatshirts for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
