Firewater Ultra
The Firewater events take place on the East Lakeshore Trail along the east shore of the Tellico Reservoir near Greenback, Tennessee. The event uses the trail end-to-end and 2026 is the twelfth running. The Watershed Association of the Tellico Reservoir maintains the trails used for the races.
Distances offered include:
- 100K out and back along entire trail
- 50K from northern trailhead back to finish
- 50K Relay two person relay splitting the 50K course
- 50K Sunrise morning start option
- 50K Sunset later start option with sunset over Tellico Lake
- 25K Ruck second half of the 50K course, about 22.5K
The finish is located at the southern terminus of the trail, Wildcat Pointe Trailhead (Trailhead #10). The 100K runs from Wildcat Pointe to Canal Branch Trailhead (Trailhead #1) and returns. The 50K fields are transported to the northern trailhead for a return to the finish. The 50K Relay first leg rides the bus north while the second leg starts at Sinking Creek Trailhead (Trailhead #4) and runs to the finish.
The 25K Ruck follows the second half of the course with required dry pack weights: male and non binary 30 lb, female 15 lb, boys under 15 years 20 lb, girls under 15 years 10 lb. Weigh in is required before the event and removal of weight during the event is not allowed. Finishers of the Ruck receive a custom patch. Optional live tracking is available for each race.
