Firewater Ultra

Firewater Ultra - Greenback, TN

The Firewater event is held on the East Lakeshore Trail along the east shore of the Tellico Reservoir. The event uses the trail system end-to-end and is supported by the Watershed Association of the Tellico Reservoir (WATeR). Multiple race options share the same trail corridor and finish at the southern terminus at Wildcat Pointe Trailhead.

Available distances and formats

• 100K out-and-back along the full trail.
• 50K point-to-finish from the northern Canal Branch Trailhead.
• 50K - 2 Per Relay with each teammate covering half the 50K course.
• 50K Sunrise start option.
• 50K Sunset start option.
• 25K Ruck covering the second half of the 50K course.

Course notes: the 100K starts at Wildcat Pointe, runs north to Canal Branch Trailhead and returns to Wildcat Pointe. 50K solo runners are transported to the northern end to run back to the finish. The 50K Relay uses a midcourse exchange near Sinking Creek Trailhead where the first runner meets the second runner who then continues to the finish.

Ruck specifics: the 25K ruck is roughly 22.5K and uses weighted packs. Dry weight requirements are specified by category and competitors will be weighed before the start and at the finish. Published course documents and interactive maps list aid station locations, distances between stations, cutoff times, crew access, drop bag locations, and pacer entry.
