Arrowe Park - Wirral Multi-Terrain League
Arrowe Park is one of four midweek races in the Wirral Multi-Terrain League, held each Tuesday in September. The series uses varied surfaces including sand, rocks, mud and hills and stages senior races over short cross-country distances.
Distances
- 6.5K to 8K for senior races
- Approx 2 miles for junior races (U15 and 11 and over)
The competition is open to first claim members of UK Athletics affiliated clubs; second claim runners may take part if their first claim club does not enter. Runners are required to wear their recognised club colours. The minimum age for the senior event is 15 on the night of the first race.
Entry is online via Nifty Entries with a stated fee of £6 for senior athletes and £2 for juniors. Organisers advise that entrants should be confident of completing the course in under one hour for safety reasons. League awards and trophies are allocated across the four races, with individual and team scoring based on competitors' best three results out of four; tie-breaks use placings in the remaining race. Team sizes and award rules are specified for male and female teams, and junior medals follow a similar best-three scoring rule.
