Petzl Halloween Night Runner Delamere Forest
Round 1 of the Petzl Night Runner Series takes place at Delamere Forest with Event HQ and the start and finish based at the main Visitor Centre. Fancy dress is encouraged and the event theme is "Spooky Halloween". The course is a marked night trail with reflective directional signs and attracts hundreds of runners.
Distances offered:
- 10 km one lap
- Half Marathon two laps
The route is mainly well established trail with some potentially muddy or slippery sections. Runners require a good quality head torch or hand-held torch and are recommended to wear grippy trail or fell shoes with an aggressive tread. Warm clothing and a wind or waterproof jacket are also recommended. The minimum age for the races is 16 years on race day. A free 1 km kids event is held on the night and medals are provided for all young finishers.
Entry details include discounted and general prices with entries closing at noon on the Friday before the event or when the event fills. Included with entry are a custom glow in the dark finisher's medal, drinks at the finish and at halfway for the half marathon, electronic timing, and hi-res event photographs available to download. Dogs may not take part in the races but are allowed as supporters at the start and finish area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
