Petzl Halloween Night Runner Delamere Forest

Round 1 of the Petzl Night Runner Series is based at Delamere Forest Visitor Centre in Delamere, Cheshire (CW8 2JD). Event HQ and the start and finish are located at the main Visitor Centre. The event runs under a "Spooky Halloween" fancy dress theme and participants are encouraged to wear costumes.

Distances:

  • 10k (one lap)
  • Half Marathon (two laps; distance retained after first being introduced in 2024)

The route is fully marked with reflective directional signs. The terrain is mainly well established trail with some potentially muddy or slippery sections. Runners require a good quality head torch or hand held torch to navigate the course and are advised to wear trail or fell shoes with an aggressive tread. Warm clothing and a wind or waterproof jacket are recommended.

Minimum age for race entry is 16 years on race day. A free 1k kids event is held on the night and medals are provided to all young finishers. Dogs are not permitted to take part in the race but may attend as supporters in the start and finish area.

Entry options include discounted and general rates for each distance, and entries close either at 12 noon on the Friday before the event or when the event fills. Included with entry are a custom glow in the dark finisher's medal, drinks at the finish and midway on the half marathon, electronic timing, and free hi‑res event photographs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
