Penshaw 10K
Penshaw 10K is part of the Urban Trails series organised by Trail Outlaws and is set on the trails around Penshaw Monument and the River Wear at Herrington Country Park, Penshaw, Tyne and Wear.
The course covers 10 km on undulating trail terrain with recorded ascent of 830 feet and descent of 702 feet. The route is fully marked and marshalled; competitors are responsible for their own navigation. There is a checkpoint at 5 miles offering sweets and water, and water is available at the finish. The race must be completed within two hours.
Event services include electronic timing by TOTS with instant online results, bespoke finisher medals, medical cover at the start and finish area, first aid provision at the checkpoint, free event parking and digital photography. A bespoke event t-shirt is available to purchase. Mandatory kit specifies shoes suitable for the ground conditions. Runners must keep their bib visible, log their number with marshals at checkpoints and carry required kit at all times.
