Endure the Moor
Endure the Moor is a backyard ultra held on the Town Moor in Newcastle upon Tyne on Saturday 31st October. The event uses a fixed loop of 4.167 miles that participants must complete each hour.
Each lap is run every hour on the hour. A runner must finish the lap and be ready to start the next lap within the hour or they are eliminated. The laps repeat on the same course until only one runner remains; there is no conventional finish line. Checkpoints are noted at 100 miles (24 hours) and 200 miles (48 hours).
The course takes place on the Town Moor, a site used for local parkrun, charity races and community events; this is the first backyard ultra held on that ground. The event schedule includes check-in and a mandatory race briefing. An early bird fee of £85 is listed.
The format emphasizes repeated identical laps on the same terrain, requiring sustained physical effort and ongoing decision making about whether to continue each hour. The course layout does not change from lap to lap. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
