Tommy Runs 2026 - Seaham seafront

Tommy Runs takes place on Sunday 1 November 2026 on the Seaham seafront. The event starts at the Tommy War Memorial Statue (officially titled 1101, Eleven-O-One), which represents a reflective World War I soldier and honours the archetypal private soldier, Tommy Atkins. A one-minute silence will be observed before each race.

Courses use a mix of road, promenade, and coastal trail surfaces along the seafront. The event features live chip timing provided by a timing company and a 90-minute cut-off time due to road closures. The event is a running race only and is not suitable for walkers. Dogs are not permitted; this event is not canicross friendly.

Finishers receive an event medal, event T-shirt, and a snack. Public car parking is available in Seaham for attendees. The event supports Louie’s Trust, a small charity that assists children and families during hospital treatment, including practical and emotional support for parents and children with rare and undiagnosed conditions.
