Wild Hare Trail Race
The Wild Hare Trail Race takes place at Bluff Creek Ranch in Warda, Texas on November 14, 2026. The event uses a 7.8 mile loop with varied terrain including a mountain bike style section of twists and turns, open fields, and bluff climbs and descents. Bathrooms and showers are available near the start area.
Distances offered:
- 50 miles
- 50K
- 25K
- 10K
- Youth 1 mile
Course structure and support are consistent across distances. The 50 mile field runs a modified first lap of about 11 miles then repeats five full 7.8 mile loops. The 50K covers four full loops, the 25K two loops, and the 10K one shortened loop. Aid station support is provided at the Start/Finish area and at a Midway Aid Station located about 3.5 miles into each lap. The race is cupless; runners must carry their own cup or bottle. Drop bag service is not provided but runners may leave bags along the ranch fence or around the yard according to posted guidance.
The course is well marked with caution tape, yellow directional arrows, and reflective markers for low light. All distances are chip timed with ankle chips; chips must be returned if a runner leaves the race. Awards include Top 3 overall plus Top Masters 50 and older per distance. A youth 1 mile is untimed and all youth finishers receive a bib and medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
