About the race
The Texmas Trail Race is a multi-distance trail event held at Buescher State Park in Smithville, Texas. The course utilizes a mix of narrow paths and single-track trails with some rocky sections and inclines. Each loop of the course features an elevation gain and loss of 450 feet. The event has a total participant limit of 500 runners.
Participants can choose from a variety of distances:
- 104 km (Solo or 4-person relay)
- 57 km
- 21 miles
- 14 miles
- 7 miles
- 1 mile
The event includes two full aid stations located at the start/finish and at the 3.12-mile mark. These stations provide water, electrolyte drinks, sodas, and various food items such as fruit, salty snacks, sweets, and hot food in the evening. This is a cupless race, meaning runners must carry their own reusable bottles or hydration packs. For the 104 km solo race, pacers are permitted after the completion of the fifth loop.
Parking is available within the park for approximately 150 vehicles, with additional parking and a shuttle service provided from Rocky Hill Ranch. All participants are required to pay a park entry fee. Finisher awards are provided for all distances, including medals for most runners and buckles for the 104 km distance.
