About the race
Hells Hills Trail Race is a multi distance trail event held at Rocky Hill Ranch in Smithville, Texas on April 3, 2027. The venue includes on site camping and a grass race hub next to a small pond; the address is 578 Farm to Market Road 153, Smithville TX 78957. The event lists multiple race options:

The course is primarily single track with bridges, stream crossings, pine trees, and fields of wildflowers. Runners should expect many short steep hills and a rolling profile of frequent ups and downs rather than long sustained climbs. The loop layout means some distances are multiple laps.
The race is cupless: runners must carry a water bottle or collapsible cup to use aid stations. Collapsible cups are available for purchase at packet pickup for $7 cash or Venmo and later at the merchandise tent by card. Aid support includes two full aid stations plus the start finish Saloon, a self support station on the far side of the loop, and an additional temporary water stop positioned for the 10K; supplies occur roughly every 2.8 to 4.5 miles.
Course markings use orange caution tape, yellow arrows, signs with distance designations, and confidence markers. For ruck divisions there are mandatory weights, weigh ins, and equipment rules. Chip timing uses ankle chips that must be worn on the ankle. The youth mile is untimed and all youth finishers receive a bib and finisher medal.
