Southern Lakes Ultra
Southern Lakes Ultra is a multi day staged ultra run held in Central Otago, New Zealand. The event is run over seven days with six competition stages and covers approximately 250 km in total. The route travels through the Southern Lakes region and finishes in Queenstown.
The course follows a variety of terrain and environments. Participants run along lakeshores and rivers, through valleys and forests, and across canyons and river crossings. The route also passes waterfalls, ski fields and historic gold mining towns and includes sections with climbs to higher ground.
Event dates are Friday 19 February to Saturday 27 February 2027. The programme includes registration, gear check and a briefing on Friday 19 February, transport to the first camp and a welcome meal on Saturday 20 February, race stages from Sunday 21 February to Saturday 27 February, and an awards dinner on Saturday 27 February.
