Rocky Road 5k, 10k, Half Marathon
The Rocky Road races are road to trail running events held at the Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. Runners begin on the Whitewater Center Parkway and move off-road onto the center's trail system. The event offers multiple distances and on-course hydration-only aid stations at Dog Leg, Parkway, and Flatwater.
Distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon
Registration information lists pre-registration and day-of pricing for each distance, with higher fees for day-of registration. Packet pick-up is scheduled at the South Conference Center prior to race day. Race shirts are guaranteed for participants who pre-register by December 28, 2026. Half Marathon finishers who registered by November 27, 2026 will receive finisher medals.
Race policies require all participants to sign the Whitewater Center Assumption of Risk Agreement before participating; the waiver may be printed and brought to packet pick-up or completed on site. Registration is non-refundable. Trails remain open to other runners, hikers, and bikers during the event; participants should communicate when passing and powered transportation is not permitted. The Whitewater Center will proceed in rain or shine but reserves the right to alter, reschedule, or cancel events. The venue charges a daily parking fee, with different rates for annual passes and oversized parking. In emergencies participants must call 911 as the center does not conduct trail rescues.
Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers by age category across all distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
