Rocky Road 5k, 10k, Half Marathon
The Rocky Road event at the Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC is a road-to-trail foot race that begins on the Whitewater Center Parkway and continues onto the center's trail system. The event offers three distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon
Registration details are provided for each distance, with pre-registration and day-of registration fees listed separately. Packet pick-up is scheduled for January 8th at the South Conference Center from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Race shirts are guaranteed for those who pre-register on or before December 28th, 2026, and hoodies are available for purchase during pre-registration. Finisher medals for the Half Marathon are guaranteed for participants who register on or before November 27th, 2026.
All participants must sign the Whitewater Center Assumption of Risk Agreement before participating; the waiver can be printed and brought to packet pick-up or completed on site and is not included in the online registration form. Race registration is non-refundable.
Trail safety and event policies include that trails remain open to other runners, hikers and bikers; participants should communicate when passing other trail users; no e-bikes or powered transportation are permitted. Aid stations on course provide hydration only. The center may alter, reschedule, or cancel events and events are scheduled to proceed rain or shine. Parking fees apply and the center does not conduct trail rescues; participants should call 911 for emergencies. Results are available for previous years including 2024 through 2026.
