About the race
Old Pueblo Endurance Runs is a trail ultramarathon held in Sonoita, Arizona, on the flanks of the Santa Rita Mountains. The event began in 1985 and is described as one of the oldest trail ultramarathons in Arizona. The course runs along sections of the Arizona Trail and starts at the historic Kentucky Camp mining site, passing beneath Mt. Wrightson, which rises to 9,452 feet.

Old Pueblo has changed routes, starts, finishes, and race directors over the years while remaining located in the same mountain area. The race highlights local trail running history and routes once used by Native Americans, ranchers, farmers, migrants, and miners.
The event is part of regional series and partnerships. It is included in the Southern Arizona Triple 50 and the Southern Arizona 50K Trifecta, which recognize runners who complete multiple designated races within a season. The 50 mile event awards Sterling Silver Tickets to the first and second place male and female finishers; those tickets grant entry to the Angeles Crest 100 by bypassing that race lottery while registration fees still apply.
