MTC Blue Caps overview

The MTC Blue Caps is a single-day ultra covering approximately 35.5 miles on the same route used by the MTC JOGLE event but with reduced daily distance. The route runs from Premier Inn Wigan North to The Swan at Tarporley and forms Day 4 of the MTC Albion thirteen day end to end of England series.

Competitor places are limited to 20, with an additional allowance of 20 for Albion entrants, giving a maximum of 40 starters. The event enforces a minimum average pace of 4 mph; organisers operate preset cut-offs and will withdraw competitors who do not meet the minimum requirement.

Finishers receive a Blue Caps medal, and male and female champions are awarded bespoke trophies. Entrants can upgrade at checkout to include an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight hi vis jacket. All payments and deposits are non refundable; a personal cancellation insurance option is available at booking.

Maps, GPX files and printed route maps are supplied to registered competitors before the race. Each entrant receives a tracking device with an SOS function for real time monitoring. The event is cup free; competitors must supply their own reusable cup.

Mandatory kit includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, maps as provided, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone and a basic first aid kit. Competitors must be aged 18 or over and follow the organiser’s rules and checkpoint procedures. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
