Mere Sands Mile
Mere Sands Mile is an inclusive canicross event at Mere Sands Wood Nature Reserve on 1 November 2026. The event welcomes runners, walkers and their dogs and is presented as a community‑oriented gathering focused on outdoor activity and socialising.
The main event is a 1 mile timed run. Runs are timed rather than organised as competitive races and no medals will be awarded. A briefing takes place before the run and an optional 2.5 km social run is offered afterwards to explore more of the reserve.
The course follows scenic trails through the reserve, with mostly flat natural woodland and tracks suitable for both runners and walkers. Facilities at the site include an on‑site café and visitor centre, toilets and parking. Trails are described as suitable for all abilities.
