Lyndhurst FC Clubhouse Run
The Lyndhurst FC Clubhouse Run is a community sporting event held in the heart of the Forest. This event serves as a fundraiser for the construction of a new clubhouse for Lyndhurst FC, a historic football club established in 1885. The development of this new facility is intended to support the growth of the club, including the introduction of ladies' teams.
The event features two distances held on gravel tracks within the Pondhead Inclosure:
- 5k: A single-lap course.
- 10k: A two-lap course.
The routes begin at Beechen Lane and traverse through the Pondhead Inclosure. The course layout is specifically designed to avoid disturbing ground-nesting birds in the area. The event has a total capacity of 500 participants, with 250 spots allocated for each distance.
Participants receive chip timing services, finishers' treats, and bespoke medals. Trophies are also awarded. The race headquarters is located at the Crown Stirrup Pub, which provides a venue for post-race refreshments such as hot drinks and a set lunch menu.
Registration is open to a variety of participants, from first-time runners to experienced club members of all ages. Participants under the age of 11 are required to be accompanied by an adult entrant at all times. Transfers for entries are only permitted once a specific distance has reached its capacity, and the event does not accept deferrals or withdrawals.
