Lake Tahoe Trail Festival at Zephyr Point
The event runs across three days on trails around Lake Tahoe. Each day uses established routes including the Tahoe Rim Trail, the Flume Trail, and sections of the Pacific Crest Trail, and may visit nearby peaks such as Donner Peak and Marlette Peak. Participants will encounter a mix of terrain: dirt roads, technical single track, flowy trail sections, and rocky trail, with substantial elevation gain on some segments.
Each day offers a long and a short option:
- Long option each day, approximately 26 miles.
- Short option each day, approximately 15 miles.
Organizers note that specific trails and routes are still being finalized with permitting agencies, so daily mileage is approximate and subject to change. Runners can expect a cumulative total of about 60 to 70 miles over the three days if they choose longer options across all stages.
The event is described as all inclusive: lodging and meals are provided. The published inclusions list four nights of lodging, catered meals, recovery options such as massage and yoga, event SWAG, and finisher medals. Headquarters are on the lake at Zephyr Point in Zephyr Cove, Nevada, and athletes are shuttled each morning to that day’s start and back to headquarters after the finish.
