Jacks Valley Trail Rally
The Jacks Valley Trail Rally is a trail running event held at Jacks Valley Elementary School in Carson City, Nevada. As the second race in a three-part fall series, the event utilizes the extensive trail networks surrounding the local area. The course features a combination of single-track trails and fire roads, including steep hills and sections with technical footing. Participants can view the Carson Valley and surrounding mountain ranges from the course.
The event offers three distinct distances for participants:
- 21K (approximately 14 miles)
- 10K
- 5K
The course for the 21K distance includes one aid station located approximately at mile seven, providing water. There are no aid stations provided on the 5K or 10K courses. To maintain lower registration costs, the event does not provide finisher or division place awards. All participants receive their bib numbers during the morning check-in on the day of the race.
The event takes place primarily on Forest Service land. Due to active sheep grazing for fuel reduction in the area, dogs are not permitted on the race courses, though they are allowed at the start and finish areas. Parking is available in a designated dirt lot north of the school's solar panel fencing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
