Sand Harbor 5K & 10K
The Sand Harbor 5K and 10K takes place Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Sand Harbor State Park on Lake Tahoe's East Shore. The races use an out-and-back route on the Tahoe East Shore Trail, beginning and ending at Sand Harbor State Park, with visible granite boulders and coves along the shoreline.

A costume and attire contest is held at the finish area. Judging is relaxed and involves fellow runners, and special prizes are awarded.
Entry fees listed for registrations by 10/30 are $65 for standard entries and $60 for youth and senior entries. Youth is defined as 18 years and under and senior as 65 years and older. Organizers provide discount codes by email for clubs and teams. Challenged athletes may receive a 30% discount. Active duty, reserve, and retired military may receive a 20% discount; military ID is required at packet pick-up and check-in.
Included with registration are an event T-shirt and a free digital race photo. Post-event festivities include music, food and beverages and recovery food such as fruit. Medical staff are present. Awards are given by age group and gender in five-year bins based on age as of December 31 in the race year, with a minimum of five participants in an age-gender group required to receive an award.
