Hagg Mud 50K/25K : Gaston, OR
The Hagg Mud event is an early-season trail running event held around Henry Hagg Lake in Scoggins Valley Park near Gaston, Oregon. The races have been held since 2001 and are organized by the Oregon Road Runners Club (ORRC). The start and finish are at the C-Ramp Recreation Area.
The event offers multiple distances:
- 50K
- 25K
The courses are mostly single-track trails around the lake with a short out-and-back section on a gravel road that contains the main elevation change. The 50K route circles the lake twice counterclockwise, passes several aid stations including Dam and Fenders Blue, and returns to the start/finish for post-race festivities. The 25K is one counterclockwise loop with aid stations located roughly 7.3 and 12.5 miles into the course.
Aid stations will serve food, drinks, and typical ultra supplies, but the event is CUPLESS and will not provide paper cups. Runners must bring a reusable cup, handheld, or hydration pack. Finishers receive custom finisher socks and post-race food and drinks. Prize awards are given to the top three finishers in the female, male, and nonbinary categories, and multi-year finishers are recognized in the Hall of Mud.
Registration opens September 15, 2026. The event supports waste reduction efforts and partners with the Trail Mix Fund to provide entry fee coverage and subsidies for eligible participants.
