About the race
The Hagg Mud 50K/25K is an early season trail race held around Henry Hagg Lake in Scoggins Valley Park near Gaston, Oregon. The event is organized by ORRC and the date in February 2027 is listed as likely February 13, 2027. Registration opens September 15, 2026 and the personalized bib deadline is February 2.
Distances:
- 50K
- 25K
Both races start with a loop around the C‑Ramp parking area, then pass through Sain Creek Pavilion and a gravel out‑and‑back section that provides the largest elevation change on the courses. The 50K consists of two counterclockwise laps around the lake on single track with five aid station passes, while the 25K is one counterclockwise lap with two aid stations and a few short road sections. Aid stations are cupless; runners must bring a handheld, hydration pack, or reusable cup. Stations provide fruit, sweet and salty snacks, soda, GU products, and rapid‑fill spigots for refills. The race includes a covered bag drop area, warming and changing tents, post race food and drinks, and finisher socks for all finishers.
The 50K enforces strict cutoffs and does not allow walkers; the 25K has a longer time allowance and may better suit participants who plan to hike. The event partners with the Trail Mix Fund for entry support and maintains a gender inclusive policy with male, female, and nonbinary divisions and corresponding awards.
