About the race

Forest Cup 2026 Final is an orienteering event hosted by North West Orienteering Club at Hedley Dunes, Woodhill Forest, with access via Slater Road. The event is the final round of a points competition in which points are awarded based on time behind the winner, and a prizegiving after the final will recognise the top three in each grade based on the best three scores across the four events. Entries are accepted online using enterO and entries on the day are possible subject to map availability. Entrants are automatically assigned to the most appropriate grade for the course they enter.

Competitors may choose to run in a higher grade than their typical age grade and score in that higher grade, or they may choose to run in a lower grade and score in the open grade for that course. The event uses a graded course structure with course names ranging from Red 1 through Purple and Orange to Yellow and White, and separate allocations for men, women and open categories. Further event details are to be published by the organiser. Supporters listed for the event include local councils, outdoor retailers and community funding organisations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
