About the race
The Middleware Adult Tough Guy & Gal Challenge in Kumeū, West Auckland is an off‑road obstacle event held on Sunday 1 August 2027 at the Kumeū Showgrounds, Gate 2, Access Rd. The course is described as approximately 6 km with an alternative 12 km option consisting of multiple laps; venue terrain and obstacle layout can make some courses shorter in distance but equivalent in time.
The event features a range of obstacles including mud pits, climbing walls and crawling tunnels set across farmland and natural bushland. Organisers provide hot showers, toilets, changing rooms, covered gathering areas, hot food and coffee for sale, free parking, first aid support and electronic timing. All competitors receive a finisher medal and a personalised race number if entered by 15 July.
Entries open 1 November 2026. Standard online fees apply with later and event‑day fees as published by the organiser; entry and withdrawal rules, transfer conditions and age limits are specified by the organiser. The adult event accepts competitors aged 13 and over. Team entries are available for the 6 km option with a minimum team size of five and at least two female members; the team trophy is awarded on combined placings. Dogs are not permitted at the venue.
