Family Tough Guy & Gal Challenge - Kumeu, West Auckland
The Hobbs Global Family Tough Guy and Gal Challenge at Kumeu Showgrounds is a family-focused obstacle event held on Sunday 09 August 2026. The course is approximately 3 km, with venue terrain and obstacles designed so the fastest times are equivalent to a flat 3 km cross country course.
The route includes a mix of family-friendly and classic obstacles, such as mud pits, climbing walls and crawling tunnels, set across farmland and natural bushland. Teams are made up of 2, 3, 4 or 5 people with defined adult and child compositions; children must be aged 5 to 17 and adults 18 or older. There is a maximum ratio of one adult to three children on a team. Teams of four or five will receive three bibs and four or five medals depending on team size.
Covered shoes are compulsory, and running spikes or boots with aluminium studs are not permitted; football or rugby boots with moulded studs are acceptable. Hot showers, toilets, changing rooms, covered gathering areas, free parking and first aid support are provided at the venue. Hot food and beverages will be available for purchase, customers should bring cash as eftpos may be unreliable.
Every competitor receives a finishers medal and a downloadable certificate. Limited event merchandise can be pre-ordered and some items may be available on the day for cash purchase. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
