Falling Water Ultras
The Falling Water Ultras takes place April 24, 2027 in New River Gorge National Park, West Virginia, organized by Rim to River Endurance Co. The event is based at ACE Adventure Resort and offers multiple formats.
- 100K
- 100K 2 Person Relay
- 100K 4 Person Relay
- 50K
The course is four 15.5 mile loops on trails at ACE Adventure Resort that drop into New River Gorge National Park. The route follows local waterways including Rush Run and Arbuckle, runs along the New River, and includes a stream crossing at Arbuckle Creek. Each loop includes about 2,400' of elevation gain and 2,400' of elevation loss.
Runners access a staffed aid station at the start/finish area where crew or a campsite/vehicle can be used. While on each 15.5 mile loop, runners must carry their own food and fuel. Hydration stations with water and Gnarly Fuel2-O are positioned at roughly the 5 and 10 mile points of each loop.
Solo and relay rules include a 24 hour cutoff for the solo 100K, allowance of a pacer for the final loop of solo 100K runners, a solo 50K option with a 12 hour cutoff, a two-person relay where each member covers about 50K, and a four-person relay with each member running one loop.
Registration opens December 13, 2026. Early and regular entry fees are listed by date, and a 100% refund is available until February 1. Runners registered by March 1 receive a custom RECOVER Brands tee. Solo 100K finishers receive a custom belt buckle; solo 50K and relay finishers receive a medal. Awards are given to the top three finishers in each category. Proceeds support Adventure Appalachia, a nonprofit that funds and connects people to outdoor programs in the New River Gorge region.
