Cabin Fever 50K
The Cabin Fever 50K is a winter point-to-point ultramarathon across New River Gorge National Park held on February 20, 2027. The course begins in downtown Fayetteville and finishes at Hawks Nest State Park, and it follows high ridgeline single-track, passes waterfalls, and descends to the New River below the New River Gorge Bridge. The route shares much of the Rim to River 100 course.
Registration opens October 4, 2025 at 8pm EST. Entry fees are $155 through November 4 and $175 from November 5 through February 10. The race has a 300 runner capacity as required by the National Park Service.
Participants have 10 hours to complete the course. Four fully stocked aid stations support runners along the route. All finishers within the allotted time receive a custom Cabin Fever 50K finisher medal. Awards and prizes are given to the top 10 male and top 10 female finishers. Runners registered by January 1 will receive a custom race shirt; registering after that date may result in not receiving a shirt.
A free shuttle service from the finish at Hawks Nest State Park to the start in Fayetteville is offered on race morning; participants must register for the shuttle by February 12. Refunds are available at 100% through January 1; deferrals or partial refunds after that date are handled on an individual basis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
