Estes Park Marathon & Half Marathon 2027
The event is a multi distance running weekend held in Estes Park with start areas at the Dao House and finish at Estes Park High School Track and Field. Courses include point to point and trail sections and use a rolling start format for the marathon and half marathon. Shuttle buses run from the high school parking area to the Dao House start; there is no return bus to the start area.
Course features include a downhill start that descends about 1500 feet within the first 6.5 miles on a mix of dirt trail, smooth surface road and pathways. The half marathon continues to Lake Estes Trail with views of the Continental Divide. Marathon runners follow Lake Estes Trail and a Dry Gulch Devil's Gulch loop that passes the Stanley Hotel. Aid stations are placed approximately every two miles; later aid stations offer gels, Gatorade and water. Public restrooms and porta potties are provided at the Dao House and along the course.
All finishers receive a decorative finisher medal, race photos, a performance race shirt, a free pint of beer from a sponsoring brewery and an assortment of food at the finish. Weekend programming also includes a 5 mile race, a 7.75 mile Estes Trail Descent with limited entries, kids activities and virtual race options.
