Colne Valley Path
The Colne Valley Path event offers a trail marathon and a half marathon following parts of the Colne Valley Path. The marathon route passes through Great Yeldham and the mighty oak; the half marathon starts in Greenstead Green. Both distances finish on the Cymbeline meadows in Colchester. The event base is Stambourne Village Hall, Church Road, Stambourne CO9 4NP.
Navigation is self-managed using a GPX file or written instructions. The organiser provides fully stocked aid stations and checkpoints at regular intervals along the route. A pre-race shuttle runs to the starts to allow parking at the finish; this service is offered as a selectable item during registration.
The marathon entry can be purchased without a medal to reduce the fee; participants who want a medal must select and pay for it at registration. Additional medals on race day are not guaranteed. The event is cupless: participants must bring a cup for drinks or may buy a collapsible speedcup for £2.50 each during registration or on event day.
Parking and toilets are available at both the start and the finish. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and is run under UK Athletics rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
