BigMud Trails (EARTH)

BigMud Trails (EARTH) is the first event in the Classic Element Trail Series, returned for its sixth year. The event offers three single lap trail races around the Meon Valley, all based at Queen Elizabeth Country Park in Hampshire. Each route includes a 518 ft climb to Butser Hill that is climbed twice and finishes back at the base of Butser Hill.

Distances and entry prices:

  • 16 Miles - £44
  • Marathon - £58
  • 50K Ultramarathon - £68

All runners must carry at least 500 ml of fluid. Weather can be changeable, so participants are advised to carry suitable clothing. The organiser strongly recommends downloading the GPX file to a wearable device because course arrows can be tampered with.

Aid stations are placed at set mile markers for each distance and provide sweet and savoury snacks with vegan options, plus water and flat coke. The event operates as a cupless event. Each aid station will also provide PH 1000 electrolyte drink and registered runners receive two PFH gels at registration. A bag drop tent will be available on the day.

Cut off times are published for each distance. T shirts for the Classic Element Trail Series are available by pre order only. Runners may choose to have a tree planted instead of receiving a finishers medal through the Trees Not Tees scheme. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
