Questars South Downs Adventure Race : 12 September 2026
The event takes place in the South Downs with a base at Duncton Village Hall, Petworth GU28 0JY. It is open to solo entrants and teams of two, three or four people. Participants use a map and compass to visit as many checkpoints as they can within a time limit; there are no fixed distances so each team or solo entrant decides how far to run, bike and kayak.
Disciplines available are run, bike and kayak. Organisers provide sit on top kayaks, paddles and buoyancy aids. Bike hire is available from Cyclexperience from £42 and includes a 9/10 speed hardtail mountain bike, optional helmet, basic tools or pump on request, puncture protection, on site support and a damage waiver. Hire bikes must be booked in advance.
Race formats include mixed multisport and single discipline options with stated durations: Run only or Bike only up to 2 hours (£30), Duo Run and Bike up to 5 hours (£50), and Trio Run Bike and Kayak in Masters (6 hours) or Novice (5 hours) formats (£65). Teams that intend to compete must remain together for all disciplines; the race is not run as a relay. Facilities at the venue include onsite parking, an indoor hall, catering and toilet, shower and changing areas. Mandatory safety kit is required.
