About the race

Trailwalker is a team endurance event organised by the Gurkha Welfare Trust. Teams trek, jog, or run 100 km along the South Downs Way with a completion target of under 30 hours. The main format is teams of four plus two support crew, and a new Relay option allows teams of 6 to 12 to divide the route.

The event weekend in 2026 runs from Friday 11 September to Sunday 13 September. Teams register at Queen Elizabeth Country Park before moving along the South Downs Way over rolling chalk hills and coastal views, finishing at Brighton Racecourse. The route includes nine manned checkpoints where support crews can meet participants; a hot meal is available at Checkpoint 7 and a medal and Gurkha curry are provided at the finish.

Logistics and inclusions for registered teams cover a printed route guide, a bespoke t-shirt, a medal, four hot meals, free camping at the start and finish, toilets across the course and showers at the finish, a fully signed route, and manned checkpoints with water supplies and parking for support crews. Teams must have a support crew of at least two.

Trailwalker teams fundraise for the Gurkha Welfare Trust, which provides financial and medical aid to Gurkha veterans and works with communities to improve access to clean water and education. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
