Sticks & Stones 15K
The Sticks & Stones 15K is a point to point trail race held in Babcock State Park, West Virginia. The course begins at Historic Camp Washington Carver and follows the rim of Mann's Creek Gorge before descending into the canyon.
The layout adds 2.2 miles of trail to the Big loop used by the Grinder course and removes one mile of road, leaving nine miles of trail within the 15K route. The course includes a single road section near the historic Gristmill as runners head toward Skyline and the finish overlook.
The route passes fall foliage, rhododendron tunnels, waterfalls, cliffs, bridges and forest scenery. The finish area at Mann's Creek Picnic Area includes parking, restrooms and an overlook.
Event services listed by the organizer include chip timing, a shuttle from the finish to the start, two aid stations on course and finish-line refreshments. The aid stations are located at mile 2.5 and at mile 7 near the Gristmill and provide water and electrolyte drink in cups. Packet pickup is offered the evening before in Fayetteville and the morning of the race at the finish area.
