Trail Running calendar near Margam 2026-2027

A 12 hour Backyard Ultra on a 4.2 mile loop near Crickhowell in the Black Mountains. The final lap is run in reverse as a sprint to decide male and female winners; medals are awarded for 32 miles or more.

A 23 mile trail race across the Quantock Hills pitting runners against horses, with a Pegasus Challenge four person relay in Over Stowey on 19 September 2026.

The Fan Brycheiniog will take place in Llywel on Saturday 19 September 2026. You can run 16 kilometers.

A scenic, hilly trail half marathon in the Cothi valley near Pumsaint, offering a 13 mile race, a 6.5 mile alternative and a kids race, based at Pumsaint Village Hall on 20 September 2026.

A long running trail race in the Doone Valley, Exmoor covering about 16 km (10 miles) over scenic but hilly terrain. The 37th edition limits entries to 250, requires entrants to be at least 16 and uses chip timing.

A single loop 10K trail run at Woodbury Common on natural trails with climbs and stream crossings. All finishers receive medals and top male and female finishers receive prizes including a donated sports massage.

A guided, slow-paced run around Burrator Reservoir of about 11 to 12 miles across paths, trails and open moorland, gaining over 2000 ft and offering reservoir views, photo opportunities and notes on local Dartmoor history.

Three coastal trail races on 26 September 2026 around the Gower Peninsula offer routes of 50, 34 and 23 miles along cliffs, bays and coastal paths. The event is self navigated with checkpoints, GPS tracking and coach transfers to starts.

MacTuffX Swansea at Neath Sports Centre on 26 September 2026 pairs ten functional fitness Xercises with repeated 400m or 800m runs for solo, doubles and relay entries.

A five-lap ultramarathon in Berkeley, Gloucestershire across 25-27 September 2026, covering about 130 miles and 15,000 ft of ascent with a 24 hour cut off and 120 places, organized from Hamfields Leisure with camping and tracking included.

Guto Nyth Bran is a fell race on 26 September 2026 at Bedwas Community Hall covering 9.6 km with 396 m of climb. The course is partially marked, includes a short walk from parking, and is for entrants over 18.

Scenic 5K, 10K and Canicross runs through the private grounds of Highnam Court near Gloucester, with on-site facilities, water stations and prizes.

Trail race at Margam Country Park offering 5 km and 10 km routes through woodland with castle views. The event features chip timing, water stations, a finisher's medal and parking included with entry.

A coastal 10 km race along the North Somerset shoreline, passing Black Nore Lighthouse and Redcliffe Bay. The mixed terrain route includes grass, mud, rocks and tarmac with undulating sections and a seafront finish.
