A fell race on 25 July 2026 marking its tenth year, Alderman's Ascent is an *8.5 km* course with over *400 m* of climb, visiting Pots and Pans and Shaw Rocks and acting as a counter for the English Fell Running Championship.

Tackle a classic Lake District fell race on Saturday 25 July 2026 at Beetham Sports Field, a 9.3 km route with 283 m of climb that rewards grit with stunning views. Entry on the day, plus junior sports day races and parking on site.

An endurance format event on 25 July 2026 at The Sidings, Wirral Country Park. Runners complete a 4.167 mile loop each hour until only one remains; the event is sold out with a waiting list.

A 5 km Pretty Muddy obstacle course through Sefton Park in Liverpool on mixed gravel and grass, with obstacles to climb, crawl and slide. Entry includes a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign and a finishers medal.

A long fell race across Pennine moorland near Holmfirth covering 28.5 km with 1,285 m of ascent. Category AL event requiring navigation skills and mandatory mountain kit, with checkpoints, a 200 runner limit and minimum age 18.

A muddy 5k obstacle event at Central Forest Park on 26 July 2026 where participants climb, crawl and slide over grass, woodland and tarmac surfaces. Waves run every 15 minutes and the event provides basic facilities and fundraising support.

Tackle the Hameldon Quarry Race on 28 July 2026 in Hapton, Burnley, a lively 6.5 km trail with about 400 m of climb through Bowland terrain. Day entry only, low fees and team categories make it ideal for a spontaneous challenge.

A multi-terrain five mile race around Alderley Edge, Nether Alderley and Hare Hill, organised by Wilmslow Running Club. The traditional woodland route includes Adders Moss and Daniel Hill, with proceeds donated to charity.

Up the Nab is a fell running event on Wednesday 29 July 2026 at Glossop Rugby Club, Charlesworth, with online and on the day entry options and an FRA permit providing UK Athletics insurance.

A 10 km fell race at Lee Mill Quarry in the South/West Pennines on 29 July 2026. The course climbs 332 m, teams are allowed and entry on the day costs £5; the event is the first in the Rossendale Mid Week series.

A 6.4 km fell race near Llangollen with 289 m of climb and partial course marking. Entry on the day only for £5 and there are no toilet facilities because the café is closed.

A short, steep fell race near Middletown on 29 July 2026 covering 2.8 km with 440 m ascent. Pre entry via SI Entries costs £7 or £10 on the day; junior races are included.

A Category CS fell race at Stoney Middleton Playing Field with an 8.5 km route and 308 m of ascent. The course includes climbs on High Street and Longstone Edge and finishes with prize presentation and a beer and BBQ on the field.

August 2026

She Strides Women only 50K is a women only ultramarathon in West Yorkshire with a circular marked 50 km route and about 1400 m of ascent. Four vegan friendly checkpoints and a ten hour cutoff at checkpoint 4 support participants.

A trail event around Hartington in the Peak District offering two scenic routes of about 26 miles and 15 miles, with checkpoints, aid stations, mandatory navigation kit and a village event base.

A 24 mile walk or run around Calderdale on footpaths through woods, fields and a riverside stretch, with checkpoints, refreshments and a finish meal; starts and finishes at Heath Rugby Club near Halifax.

A trail backyard ultra at Hollinwood Scout Camp with hourly off-road loops through fields and woodland, a 100-athlete cap, prize money for the winner and an extra award for anyone surpassing 100 miles.

A 10 km trail race through the forest around Gisburn Forest Hub on 1 August 2026, licensed and run to England Athletics rules. Entries include chip timing, a race medal, photography and on-site refreshments; entrants must be 18 or older.

A family friendly trail event at Porth Farm on 2 August 2026 with 1 mile and 5 km races, modest entry fees, and entries available online.

Parwich Panoramic Five on Tue 4 Aug 2026 is an 8.5 km fell race in the Peak District with 200 m of climb, held at the Sycamore Inn in Parwich. Entry on the day is available for £5 and the minimum age is 18.
