Chester Ultra 50
The Chester Ultra 50 is a 50 miles trail ultramarathon near Chester held on Saturday 27th February 2027. The course covers approximately 849 m of ascent and is limited to 750 places. The event is organised by GB Ultras, licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. It awards ITRA points and UTMB mountain performance index points.
The route links canal towpath, the Sandstone Trail and the North Cheshire Way and passes Helsby Hill, Delamere Forest and Frodsham. The race is waymarked and supported by seven checkpoints; Checkpoint 1 provides water only. Live GPS tracking is provided via GB Race Tracker. There is a 17 hours overall cut off time.
Entrants must be at least 20 years old and must have previously completed an organised marathon distance. Entry fees are listed as £139 unaffiliated and £137 for affiliated club members. No pacers or support runners are permitted. Dropbags are not allowed and participants must carry any additional items on their person.
Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and includes a waterproof coat with sealed seams, a long sleeved base layer, a water container of at least 1 litre, a fully charged mobile phone in waterproof covering, a foil blanket, a headtorch and a secondary torch, and a whistle. The event operates a cupless policy. Supporter access is restricted at several checkpoints and dogs are not permitted except service dogs.
